教員からのメッセージ
サケ科魚類の生活史(海に下る・下らない、もしくは海から川に帰る・帰らない)の多型がどのような生理的メカニズムで制御されているのかに興味を持っています。特に、生活史の分岐に重要な成長の調節機構に着目して研究を行っています。また、生活史がどの程度遺伝的に固定されていて、どの程度環境により揺らぐのかという点にも興味があります。これらの理解を通して、サケ科魚類の増殖、養殖、資源管理および保全に貢献することを目指しています。やる気と国際的な視野を持った学生さん達とサケの生物学を探究していきたいと思っています。
