海を対象に研究することは、実際に船に乗ったり、磯に出向いたりして、フィールド調査に出かけることから始まります。「なぜなんだろう」という科学的な疑問を解明することが研究です。実際の研究は、そのアプローチについての作業仮説を立て、科学的な手法を駆使し調査を行い、採取した試料を分析し、その結果について教員、研究室の仲間と議論を繰り返すことで行われます。得られた研究成果は、研究室内での発表会、関連学会の全国大会等で発表します。さらには、論文という形で公表されます。自分で行った研究成果を人前で発表することは、緊張しますが、終わった後の達成感はひとしおです。あなたも未知なる海の疑問を解明してみませんか。
