教員からのメッセージ
脂質とは,水には溶けにくく有機溶剤に溶けやすく,…CH2CH2CH2…という長い炭素鎖の部位をもち,かつ生物体に由来する物質のことをいいます。水生生物に含まれる脂質は陸上の動植物よりもはるかに多くの種類の化合物を含んでいて,それらの構造や含有量を測定することは決して簡単ではありません。私たちの研究室では,イワシ,サバ,ニシンといった一般的な海産魚だけでなく,天然のクロマグロといった重要魚種,逆に滅多に流通することのないマイナー魚やそれらの餌生物を主な対象として,脂質成分を丹念に分析し,水生生物の脂質の特徴を捉える研究を行っています。関心のある方は是非お越しください。皆さんと一緒に実験できたらよいと思います。
